My computer outperforms ANY console system that has been made to day, or will be made in the next 12 months.

They all kind of suck - in the end what really matters is what games it can produce, and lately, they've all been lacking. HALO 2 was an utter dissapointment. Woohoo, 2 guns, worse FPS and a crappy graphics engine... As for PS2? All I hear about is GTA, which has horrible graphics, no story line and isn't really all that great as it's just a sandbox game. For the GameCube? I can't even remember anymore.

How are these new "next gen" consoles supposed to be great when Microsoft basicly left the sinking ship of the Xbox to waste money and make an even bigger paper weight? Or when Sony still hasn't resolved issues with dieing consoles and companies lost? Or how about the cheesy name of the new Nintendo rig, "Revolution." What's so Revolutionary about playing Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donky Kong and Star Fox over and over and over and over again?

EXACTLY! thats why i will get nintendo. even if the new games suck, the backwards compatability and the rumored ability to DL nintendo old IP makes it worth my while.

I would rather get PS3 since its my favorite console. But i mean... come on, you can build a better computer system that would last longer than the next gen consoles.

As long as you get a decent motherboard (one with SLI build in would be awesome) great videocard (ATI Radeon x850 or the newer one, ever the new Geforce 7800 series would work well) decent memory (1GB or even 2GB) a hella of lot hard-drive space (200GB or more) and boom.. there your brand one computer that would match the power and processing speed of a next gen console.

Im losing hope for most video games. I haven't played GW in a month or two. Not to say GW sucked or what not, for the money I payed it was a hell of a ride. I just think games just lost that special feeling for me.

Im the type of guy that likes a good story, action, suspense, drama, hell any type of story! You got a game with a story, and you have a game! Examples Zelda, Shenmue, Final Fantasy, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia series, Tales of Symphonia, Resident Evil, etc. Basically anything movie like.

The other type I like are ones that are "Fun" to play. Ones that may not have much "lasting appeal" but are worth a $5.99 rental. They are straight and to the point with non stop action. Ultimate Spiderman, Dead to Rights, Doom 3... you get the point.

It just seems like I want TOO much out of a gaming experience now. I want war games to FEEL real and really draw you in. Completely destructible environments, real strategy, and intellegent AI. Most games I have tried just do not have that sadly, and nothing coming up does.

The only games I am looking forward to right now are Zelda and I will probably rent battlefront II to play with my friends until they get bored and trade it in. I guess games have just lost that AWE for me. I recently traded in all my games except for the Halo series on Xbox, and the Naruto Series, DK konga series, and SSBM on the Gamecube. I have a little over 500 dollars credit because they did a recent 40% added when you trade in 4+ games so I thought what better time to kick the habbit then when you get more bang for your buck! I told my friends I would not get a 360 at launch and out of my few close gamer friends only one is going to get it. I may get a "Next Gen" console a few years from now when there are more promising games.

Why is companies like Microsoft and Sony (except Nintendo) think graphics is the way to go for it to consider "Next Gen" and why the hell is games for the next gen systems.. look like damn anime shows or a really pretty CG!

Its about depths and storyline that drive a videogame to become successful, not this crap of "Oh, let slap on a pretty graphic and give it lame story and it will sell well.. i.e all the xbox, ps2 games combined*

Personally, i might stay away from gaming too... cuz it not worth it to spend 300 to 400 dollars for a system, than shell out ($59,99 yes that is confirm price for next gen games.. plus tax 64 or 65 dollars per games) ..and strategy like making the same games only with better graphic is not worth that much money. Also i think all these industry people are lying, saying that it cost alot to develop those games, well if it cost too much.. why don't you just take off the shinning graphics and give us more depths!!

But I actually own the games. So its not illegal for me.
